NGLCC Honors Nashville LGBT Chamber of Commerce with National Chamber Excellence Community Impact Award

Nashville, Tenn. (08/13/2015) – The Nashville LGBT Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce that the chamber was honored for excellence in community impact on Thursday, August 13th at the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC)’s 2015 International Business & Leadership Conference in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

“We are ecstatic to receive this recognition of our Pride in Business program,” said Lisa Howe, Nashville LGBT Chamber of Commerce’s Executive Director. “In one year, we have blown our goals out of the water. There was a level of trust, respect, and camaraderie among our participants from the beginning that has allowed us to be successful quickly. We look forward to developing and growing the program in order to better serve our corporate partners and our community.”

NGLCC recognized the Nashville LGBT Chamber of Commerce for their Pride in Business initiative, designed to offer a safe space for leaders of LGBT Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) to discuss best practices, ideas, and challenges in order to help each other reach their potential. Seventeen companies are currently represented in Pride in Business and the program has already helped two companies create new ERGs. “NGLCC affiliate chambers like the Nashville LGBT Chamber of Commerce are using their relationships with corporate partners to open doors for LGBT professionals and create more inclusive communities,” said Sam McClure, NGLCC Senior Vice President.
