HIRING: The LGBT Chamber is Seeking a Full Time Membership and Events Coordinator

The Nashville LGBT Chamber full time Membership and Events Coordinator works closely with the Chief Executive Officer to support members and coordinate events. Responsibilities include onboarding new members and retaining current members using and expanding upon current systems. The Membership and Events Coordinator ensures regular communications with LGBT Chamber members and supporters through verbal, written, website, and social media channels. The Coordinator will help the CEO and committees organize events related to networking, education, and fundraising.

 

Duties include, but are not limited to:

 
  • Learn current systems and be able to maximize the potential of ChamberMaster (the website/member directory/database), and Emma (the email marketing tool).

  • Work in ChamberMaster to ensure new and current members receive timely and appropriate communications such as invoices, receipts, welcome letters, renewals, event follow up letters, etc.

  • Work with members to help them maximize their LGBT Chamber membership.

  • Work with Membership Committee to execute the Membership Lifecycle strategies.

  • Work with CEO to identify opportunities to improve membership benefits, communications, and programming.

  • Manage and keep website and social media channels engaging and current.

  • Send regular communications to members and subscribers such as newsletters, event calendars, calls to action, and follow ups.

  • Coordinate LGBT Chamber and Foundation events in ChamberMaster.

  • Work with CEO and Development Committee to build, engage, and retain a robust list of donors.

  • Work with the Events Committee to execute tasks related to TASTE and the Excellence in Business Awards.

  • Serve as a liaison to TASTE participants including vendors, venue, sponsors, etc.

  • Serve as a liaison to Excellence in Business Awards participants including venue, sponsors, presenters, etc.

  • Work with bookkeeper to reconcile monthly bank statements.

  • Attend monthly Brewing up Business events to assist with setup, registration, and recruitment of new members.

  • Attend Power Lunch events to assist with setup, registration, and recruitment of new members.

  • Draft membership reports for CEO to share with Board of Directors and/or committees of the Board of Directors.

  • Other duties as assigned by the CEO.

 

Candidates should:

 
  • Have a personal connection to the LGBT community and a passion for the work of the Chamber

  • Show ability to work independently and/or remotely

  • Have customer service experience

  • Be a fast-learner

  • Anticipate different expectations of various types of members

  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Have experience reading and working with financial statements Work responsibly in social environments

  • Bring innovative ideas to a membership organization

  • Seek professional development opportunities

 

The following skills are preferred:

 
  • Previous experience working in a CMS

  • Previous experience organizing and managing events

  • Marketing experience, including social media management

  • Template and graphic design

  • Website content development and management

  • Knowledge of Google Drive and ability to organize content logically
